West of Loathing

The game's core strength is the fun and laughter of exploring its unique world for the first time, so the less you know going in, the better.

I strongly recommend putting experience into your character's dialogue focused skill (which is unique to their class); the in-game rewards from choosing to talk your way through problems are frequently (though not always) lower than choosing to shoot your way through obstacles, but they give you access to even more hilarious writing, which to me is the real reward of playing the game.

As with most things in game, the real fun is the humor embedded in the combat, not the combat itself.

These, along with the charming art style, are the highlights of the game in my opinion

Character customization and an extensive collection of hats add further variety, while environments remain clear enough that important interactive elements are easy to recognize.

The western-inspired soundtrack provides an excellent contrast to the ridiculous imagery.
