On the other hand the movesets are very complex and have an extremely high skill ceiling, most weapon types have an entire catalogue of combos for different situations as well as weapon-specific mechanics like temporary buffs obtained by landing a certain combo etc..

This complexity more than makes up for the longer duration of fights and makes the combat very engaging even when re-fighting the same monster.

That being said, the game is balanced a lot better than soulsborne games in terms of co-op with similar level players - playing through the game at the same time with a friend doesnt really bring down the quality of the fights like it does for ex. in Elden Ring.

The learning curve, though softened from earlier titles, remains steep for complete newcomers, as mastering weapon timing, crafting systems, and monster behavior requires patience and commitment.

Also the graphics are really good for a game this old, especially in 4K.

The music can go from calm and relaxing to frantic and desperate skillfully and the sound design is great for both weapons and the monsters leading to both of them feeling impactful and weighty.
