What players think
The recurring themes across 174 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
A charming point and click adventure title that goes out of its way to respect the player and tell an interesting story over trying to force the jokes.
Its music and visuals, while not masterworks, are carefully crafted by competent artists who clearly have a great amount of love for the world they are creating, in order to support a pleasing story that will hit you gently in the feels.
The graphics are beautiful; the animation is very well-done; the music is captivating; the sound effects are good; the gameplay is great, with puzzles of medium difficulty, and it is nice that you can can walk and run.
Letting the player customise the game’s difficulty through the AI is great but also respecting the players time shows a great understanding by the developers of the importance of keeping things user-friendly.
I do hope that the rest of the chapters live up to the same quality as the first, but I do feel as though there could be some improvements in the form of optimization and maybe a HUD/accessibility..
There is an interesting gameplay quirk where a lot of the game content is written (not dialogue)--the main character even journals her progress as the game progresses.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and is not shown.
