As I was more than happy to spend some time with those two old friends, I was ready to withstand the boring repetitive gameplay of the beat-em-up main game, offering no combos or special moves, and the repetitive sponge enemies, because all that was redeemed by a great narrative aspect playing brilliantly on the nostalgia for the movies.

The only positives I can point out are the soundtrack, full of bangers from the movies (I imagine most of the budget went into licensing), and the graphics, which are pretty enjoyable overall.

Still, for a game with such a strong co-op focus as this one, it makes it worth your while to find someone to play with, either locally or in Play Together.
- Controller buttons need to be explained properly, it was by pure luck that I discover that L1 switch character and R2 make the character run (way better than having to press the right stick).

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
