What players think
The recurring themes across 32 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The title follows the adventures of Rian Rico and a band of misfits who travel through a post-apocalyptic desert in a quest for survival and a place to truly call home.
I love it when visual novels incorporate some type of gameplay into the storyline and it's a shame that it doesn't happen very often.
For example, if there is a scene with Rian getting into a car chase with someone you don't just read about it you see it unfold before your eyes with very cute animated sequences with vehicles and sound effects as well.
The visual presentation leans heavily into a retro-inspired pixel art style that feels warm and expressive despite its simplicity.
