What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It has beautiful new art style, the best retro CRT effect I have seen in a commercial game and retro audio support (with FM chip mode!).
It is still quite a challenging, engaging game that gets progressively harder as you get accustomed to the gameplay.
The remade soundtrack is very generic, much more toned down and some of my favorite tracks are completely neutered versions of their former selves.
The art style reminds me of the illustrations one would find in those old children story books from past decades: they’re pretty charming.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
