What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
You have to learn how to dial in every last detail of your run to min-max your characters into oblivion and not waste a single turn if you want any hope of completing a run; Enemies outscale you to the point that fights are mathematically unwinnable within 5-10 hours of most runs - it's not like you can get lucky or get good enough at planning out the individual fights - you will physically be incapable of penetrating their armor because your weapons damage value is too low.
I really adore the gameplay, art style, and almost everything about this game but even on the bottom two difficulties you truly are punished for any remote bit of exploring you do.
Co-op is one of the game’s strongest features.
With its charming art style, strategic complexity, and high replay value, it’s a game that I not only enjoyed thoroughly but would strongly recommend to anyone who appreciates thoughtful, tactical gameplay.
I have played this game for so many years, both single-player and with friends, local and online multiplayer.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
