What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The hand-drawn art style, filled with soft colors and playful animations, evokes the charm of a storybook brought to life.
Rather than relying on convoluted storylines or heavy mechanics, the game focuses on the pure act of exploration—inviting players to scour intricately drawn environments filled with tiny details, lively characters, and whimsical humor.
It adds a lot of gameplay and especially when the Hidden Through Time Deluxe Edition is on sale, it’s also very worth the price.
The sound design complements the visuals perfectly, using light ambient melodies and environmental noises to enhance the mood without overwhelming the player.
You can play along the main story line (though there isn't really a story) which visits different time periods in human civilisation, you can also create your own maps to share online as well if you feel a creative urge and you can play other players' maps online then rate/favourite them if you so wish to.
Runs perfectly on my Steam Deck.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
