I'm old enough to have experienced actual arcade machines and this is exactly what it was like - smooth, solid controls, neon graphics in primary colours and lively electro background music.
The developers have said that they wanted to capture the original feel of an arcade game within a modern gameplay style and if you ask me they've absolutely nailed it.

Don't get me wrong, I love a great synth soundtrack pulsating over eye-popping retro visuals as much as the next guy, but it is starting to go the way of zombies.
3 It has a nice story behind it and if you are into alien or UFO crafts there are numerous reference's to actual UFO myths for example the TR3B
