For $20, you get to play this awesome game many months earlier than the people waiting for F2P, as well as unlocking the full character cast (which means you dont have to grind up to buy characters).

While I love the game for it's smooth gameplay and somewhat balanced roster of playable character, the company, Stunlock Studios, are simply not caring for this game the way it deserves.

I Highly recommend playing against Bots/AI at first because fighting against other players right off the bat can be rather discouraging, especially when fighting against the Bots in this game can be a surprisingly Fun/Challenging (Against higher difficulty Bots) experience.
