What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The story is simple: four immune survivors fighting their way through zombie-infested cities to reach safety.
Developed by Valve and released on Steam and Xbox 360 in November 2008, it introduced a highly replayable co-op experience powered by the AI Director, which dynamically adjusted enemy placement, pacing, and item spawns to keep every playthrough feeling different.
It’s certainly the game that started it all, laying the foundation for the franchise’s core gameplay and co-op formula, even if the sequel expanded and improved on almost every aspect.
Strong atmosphere: The campaigns create tension through sound design, lighting, and fast-paced action rather than relying solely on jump scares.
The downside about this version of the game is that not a lot of people play it, but you'll definitely get some good full lobby games in no time, it just takes a little bit longer for people to join your game if you're hosting it.
Had this game for the xbox 360 and I played it damn near everyday its super fun wish I could use my controller to play tho and run pn my PC no lag
