What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Second improvement is the story, now the first game didn't have much of a story to begin with, it mostly had some vibes and quite a lot of desert atmosphere, which I enjoyed, but I wouldn't want to spend a hundred hours in multiple consequtive character playthroughs.
The artstyle of the Borderlands series is very recognisable and I have to give credit for that, as it suits the gameplay very well.
Honestly, I didn't even like the co-op part that much, as I think it's almost better to experience the game solo on the first playthrough, but that's not a hill I'm going to die on.
Visually, the game looks exactly how you’d expect a Borderlands title to look, with that signature gritty, comic-book art style that I absolutely love.
The sound design and audio are also solid across the board, and the voice acting is mostly very well done.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
