Killing Time (Classic)

If all the technical innovation isn't enough, the art style is a blend of Art Nouveau and Art Deco that feels like La Belle Epoque meets The Great Gatsby, which was novel then, and still a rare sight now.

Originally developed by The 3DO Company and later reintroduced to modern audiences on Steam through Ziggurat, the game stands apart from many of its contemporaries by blending shooter mechanics with adventure-style exploration, horror themes, and an unusually heavy emphasis on narrative presentation.

The weapons feel good with a bit of jank with the auto aim being weird, but I am use to that with all of the other games of the time that I have played.

Still, it's a much better experience playing the remake Killing Time: Resurrected, which is also available on Steam - it's got massive quality of life improvements and the graphics are cleaned up without betraying the spirit and vibes of the original.

The soundtrack is probably my favorite aspect of the game (besides the shooty, shooty, bang, bang of course) as most of the tracks are tense or creepy while some others feel like party music an fit the different areas.
