It's efficient because for the price tag, you're getting a roguelike with multiple routes, many different paths to power, multiple builds to try and multiple ways to just LIVE.

the way the original artwork is used to portray the story is really cool

Graphically it's got an art style it sticks to well and the game is still enjoyable to look at even after 10 hours of play, although if you like visual spectacle you'll be straight out of luck as it's mostly Jpegs and things done to Jpegs, although those things are fun.
