Vanquish

Don’t play Vanquish for the story, that’s obvious, but if you want a stupid, phenomenal gameplay experience unlike any other, this is a MUST PLAY, and you have to play it NOW!

Vanquish may have those elements, but it actively discourages you from just sitting in cover all day, rather engaging you in crazy moment mechanics that see you zipping around combat arenas at mach speeds when comparing to other traditional cover shooters.

There's also much cooler stuff to do that isn't tied to acheivements (God Hard difficulty, for example).

The core visuals have been touched up quite nicely from its original (barely) 720p resolution on the last generation of consoles.

Ignoring that though, both the sound and the music were clearly designed to support the combat rather than grab your attention, but the OST is the real highlight since it's pretty unique for a third-person shooter from the 7th gen era.

Steam Deck held up really great for this title, although battery life is about 2ish hours on one charge.
