If you like story-rich, narrative-driven rpgs with TONS of content (took me 47 hours to complete, and apparently I barely scratched the surface with the sidequests) and some fun tactical combat, I'd highly recommend the Avadon series - to which Avadon 3: The Warborn is a satisfying conclusion.
The isometric graphics, simple animations, and modest visual effects clearly reflect the priorities of a small independent studio focused on gameplay systems rather than graphical realism.
