Avadon 3: The Warborn

If you like story-rich, narrative-driven rpgs with TONS of content (took me 47 hours to complete, and apparently I barely scratched the surface with the sidequests) and some fun tactical combat, I'd highly recommend the Avadon series - to which Avadon 3: The Warborn is a satisfying conclusion.

The storytelling is rich and deep, the character progression is satisfying, and the combat is fun and surprisingly tactical.

While the visuals may appear dated compared to modern RPGs, they remain functional and readable during combat while allowing the game to dedicate more resources to its expansive world, lengthy campaign, and intricate role-playing mechanics.

Developed and published by Spiderweb Software, Avadon 3: The Warborn concludes the long-running fantasy RPG trilogy with a satisfying blend of tactical combat, branching storytelling, and meaningful player choice.

Its strongest qualities lie in its layered storytelling, meaningful choices, rewarding tactical battles, extensive character customization, and generous amount of content that easily supports multiple playthroughs.

The option in classes and a wide array of abilities helps keep the encounters engaging and allows light tactical planning on medium-to-large scale battles (especially on higher difficulty levels).
