The silliness and humor that you see in the trailer is basically the limit of the silliness and humor that seems to be in the game, with the exception of a few lines of "story", and one power-up that shoots random junk, which is pretty funny.
I like the power-up system, and the game has fun music as well, with nice visual art style for the characters and levels; simple but vibrant and fresh.
I have only played the game using my Xbox One controller.
There's plenty of replayability with its additional campaigns and game modes, and the soundtrack is pretty cool too (though I much prefer the Xbox 360 version's menu theme to this one.)
