Chuck's gimmick of combo weapons should also be used all the time- generally speaking you should be using combo weapons more than what you can just find laying around.
It was the first to feature co-op, the combo weapons are really fun to use, the survivor AI is much better compared to the first game, Chuck is a really great character and the ost is pretty good thanks to Celldweller.
What it lacks in originality, it makes up for with a strong sense of personality and a story that's very easy to get invested in.
DR2/OTF have a lot of quality of life improvements (being able to move while shooting, better survivor AI, less restrictive map design) and are both significantly easier than DR1.
The difficulty was perfect minus survivors just being a little way too OP.
Other than that, I think the sound design is solid despite it's age.
