What players think
The recurring themes across 193 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The puzzles themselves are simple, yet fun, which synchronizes well with the flame ability that is used for combat, so instead of having two skills for different things, there is one that does both.
Let's adress the gameplay - the less good first :
- there's not enough play on light vs dark in terms of us lighting our environment, it feels safe and cozy to a degree, but this is a little subjective.
Candellum is genuinly the best free game i've played on steam as it ticks all the marks i love; incredible atmosphere, unique visuals & designs, tight gameplay and a great soundtrack.
The atmosphere and worldbuilding is very minimal but yet the amazing designs for the enviroments as well as the characters tell so much.
- optimization, there's initial stutter when I first started the first stage but that all luckily went away after.
