Personally, I think this game was launched with a gameplay that’s more focused on the multiplayer rather than the main campaign, due to several drastic changes in the latter that didn’t quite fit completely, as well as the addition of a customization system, a ranking system, and more multiplayer mechanics.
Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder is a more challenging sequel with many improvements in gameplay, graphics and soundtrack, but unfortunately, it also comes with many flaws and changes that make the game feel a bit more frustrating and different from the first part.

The Graphics are amazing for a small game and crashes very, very few times.
Main reason why this gets an eat at 8.5 and I improves on what the previous game has done the boss battles all of them are not that good / the first one is and every other one is God awful but the actual levels the actual courses where you compete against the AI and the time trials make it very fun all of this was done and easy and I think doing this on anything higher than that will make it feel extremely unfair and very unfun cuz you're already at a disadvantage from the previous game the previous game you're going from 60 to 80 in this game your minimum is 80 and you top out at 120 speed and can go even faster with certain boulders there's no more unique Boulders like the fire boulder or the winged Boulder there's even more better designed and in my personal opinion better Boulders overall unfortunately too much of them do the same or not enough to the basic Boulder which makes them all unfortunately just relevance that doesn't mean that you should not use them or attempt to to not use them but your gameplay is not going to differ too much from mine but I only used two boulders the base one slash the lion one and the wheel one what you really want to do is get a head start on your opponent so you can deal more damage to their door and also get to the top view so you can stop your opponents as quickly as possible and unlike the first game where you're slowing down then destroying your enemy with this game depending on the map you're either going to be doing somewhat what you were doing in the first game or what is key in this game which is doing the slowing down and the killing at the exact same time or just straight up trying to permanently stop them so you can get to their door quicker than they can even finish their run now that's not always possible just because of the quickness of the game but in certain Maps is technically doable the other super good thing about this game that I don't know if the third one has and the first one definitely doesn't have that makes this an amazing game is it has local PC Co-op which is insane the first one you needed to controllers of any kind where this game you can be playing on the keyboard and your friend can be playing on whatever other controller that they choose to have the time trials were very fun but also very hard the hardest map for me was the volcano one and the hardest one that I did not do last was the Egypt level as well so prepare yourself for those two levels the other major reason why this doesn't really get a higher overall review then the previous game is the scheme unfortunately crashes upon startup and immediate crash if you haven't Intel CPU which 80 to 95% of computers is going to have out of the box if not people go for as their primary thing so just be wary of that is the biggest con for this game that can be easily mitigated with a command prompt that you can find in the discussion forums for the game and just like the first one there's online so if you don't like split screen Co-op within the main game and possibly even the main story if you always do stuff online when it goes on sale again for $2 It also had some lag problems for me in two maps which I wish I knew which ones they were off the top of my head but that was the only issues I've had with that and this was everything on Ultra
Additionally, the soundtrack and the ambientation are fine like before.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
