Way of the Samurai 3

The story is pretty great, the sound track is also awesome, though repetitive.

There are a bunch of different weapons, combat styles, and special moves to play with, along with universal mechanics : light kick (point blank, fast, unblockable), grab (close range, slow, unblockable, knocks down), jump attacks and dash.

EDIT: so i did eventually figure out how to parry pretty consistently. since it took so long, it felt very rewarding and instant kills are fun but another challenge. i have yet to get a chain higher than like 4, since timing is a bit tricky and keyboard control prompts arent great. having also put some time into 4, i recommend this one over it, but i do more comparison in my review of 4.

It suffered in reviews just because it looked a few years behind, when the gameplay is solid and fun, character customization is great (not to mention your customized character actually shows up in cutscenes! <3), and there's more than 15 endings!

This is an amazing port, some weird camera glitches here and there, but controller compatibility is great, soundtrack isn't to die for but it is nice and calming.
