The chiptunes in this are pretty good and the boss fights are each unique (there's about 10 of them in total) and are challenging enough to master and find patterns; though a nice change-up is when you try different characters and find the difficulty changes on the playstyle you need to adapt to.

The bonus in this game is that there are collectibles for a "better ending", there are multiple characters to play and unlock (each have a particular fire pattern/skill) and each of those characters have their own small unique ending as well - which I think is a nice little touch and inspired me to finish the game with each character.

Halloween Forever certainly embodies the spirit of the season with its monster designs, and its challenging design taps into the retro platforming flavor its visuals are going for.
