Forgettable for sure, but the gameplay is so good, it doesn't really matter.
At least they added modern controller functionality (read the store page for what is supported), I can confirm Xbox-one is working, but you will have to use one of the 3 presets in the game settings (keyboard can be remapped via the in-game options as well).
