Instead of a rock solid foundation of picking a kit and shooting bugs however, the gameplay loop is 100% dedicated - in its full, integral entirety - to the most boring part of DRG; slipping downwards in the dark towards an objective while evading the fall damage.

As I said, the game is a lot of fun, but unless some sort of optimization is added, I won't be able to play it much.
The Muppet inspired characters are fun too, the game maintains an appropriate level of whimsy for them to feel fitting, and as a fan of The Muppets I take whimsy very seriously.
Even the menu for custom matches drinks heavily from the "Play it your way" update.
