Granted, it’s still very surface-level moege that’s probably enjoyable only for the target demographic (me; cishet dudes), but potential recency bias aside, while I was playing through the first half, I genuinely felt surprised that there’s actually some proper story writing here.
The audio design is another highlight.
The visuals are nice and clean, the e-mote engine is fluid and easy on the eyes for the characters, and OST is soothing to listen to.
In terms of gameplay, NEKOPARA Vol. 2 follows the familiar visual novel structure—reading through dialogue, enjoying character interactions, and occasionally making small choices.
