Which, tbf is kinda trueeee and has someeeee point.... but at the same time I don't really care about it at all, I still really liked this game and Winter's (Ethan's and Mia's) + Eveline's story a lot.
Gameplay: yes this game contains gore. but contrary to what most people say this is a survival horror game before a gore horror game. sad part is that you can never experience the true horror elements of this game if you never play it. if you have just watched someone stream this game or the full game on YouTube, i want you to trust me when i say this that the game is much much more spookier when you actually play it. there is a whole different level of immersion and spookiness when you are the one whos controlling the character rather than someone else on your screen. the game brings back the original resident evil mechanics but in a much more refined way with modern elements. now instead of collecting ink ribbons to save your progress you basically get an unlimited save state which is amazing!
Sound and Visuals: i played this game both on headphones (Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro) and on speakers through SD. the sound feels immersive both ways but i highly recommend headphones if you want a true spooky gameplay. if you have a screen that is HDR compatible then its even great!

Performance: i played RE7 completely on SD here and got constant 75+ fps on the highest settings with raytracing turned off. i know raytracing makes the game even more beautiful but thats the sacrifice you gotta make atleast for now with the handhelds as turning RT on even at lowest setting would drop your fps down to mid 20s.
Gotta be one of those well optimized games.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
