Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

i did get spoiled on two things from this game, one being not really that important and the other being a end game spoiler (and also got miss lead by a red herring which my friend who has played the series played along with) but thankfully knowing the spoilers didn't ruin my enjoyment cause instead of them it was more on why that was the case. in terms of how the story played out I wish the mystery of the island was more focused on, the first game balanced out the killing game with us finding clues about why we were there meanwhile the second was more on getting off the island, finding the traitor and figuring out who we are. it wasn't bad but did make the exposition dump of Chapter 6 feel more bloated than it did in the previous game. but in turn for this, this game has some of the highest highs of the series (probably, didnt play the 3rd one yet and 2x2 isnt out yet).

just like the first, I think its great and a lot of what i said before matches here. however when it comes to trial gameplay it felt like a step in the wrong direction. the rhythm section got extremely precises requirements, the closing statements (which I didn't mention before are my favorite parts of the trials) changed it to where you're given the full sequence and 3-4 batches of puzzle pieces to match the sequence, which fixes an issue before where if you got a piece wrong in the previous game then it wont tell you till its being played out and pause it till you get it right, its got ups and downs to this change which you will get use too.

in comparison to the first game you get improved mechanics and systems, more minigames and a remaster of the main ost along with some nice new songs. thats all i saw improve with this game.
