The Grand Prix mode is probably the closest, but it's missing the progression like the Diamond Dynasty mode and more closer to a gacha game.
Sure the graphics got bit better and weird new modes you never play has been added, but no real improvements.
So this is just basic game to increase the number of online players.

character customization is great but whats the point if you can only do it over game created characters and not your own personal creations. good stepping stones and I'm very glad PC has a baseball sim but bro I just want a fun game, who knew that'd be so hard to come by in 2026
