I ended up using a walkthrough, because it's really hard to keep track of all the names and plot points to simply figure out what you're meant to do, and many of the things you're meant to do are almost impossible to just stumble across unless you're incredibly lucky.
As this is an interactive novel, you would think there wouldn't be much in terms of gameplay.
I /like/ this about this art style, though.
You could consider the original books better, in a way, because of the pure immersion of imagination via the absence of interface.
The books have been SUPERBLY re-created in this visual novel/tabletop style and it is pure melancholic joy to experience the journey once again with the added pleasures of a nice soundtrack, new battle system (much better than rolling dice like mad) and even a bit of gambling.
