But, this game is also worth buying if you want to experience the true original gameplay experience of the original Rayman back from 1995.
Also it really lets you customise your play, you can play with any aspect ratio with any of the difficulty modifications you want, unlike sonic origins where if you wanted to play the original sonic games with the original lives system, you'd have to play in a 16:9 ratio which is really annoying.
allot of the pure atmospheric tunes like Betilla the Fairy and band land feel like they need to be into a completely different world or characters or levels but I probably could have waited until a mod will come and fix it but the bigger issues are lag spikes and fps drops they made the game feel way more janky I had times where I press just and nothing happened or it was a delayed jump and on a game like Rayman that's a guaranteed death and you can see the game dropping by 10 fps randomly that's absurd from a remaster of a 2d game that came 30 years go if you want to enjoy Rayman 1 either try Forever or Redmpetion
I had very minor stutters playing that version on a not-so-powerful Steam Deck at 1080p.
I can confidently say it is one of the greatest 2D platformers of all time and it has such a timeless art style that still holds up 30 years later.
My only suggestion is to play on controller, because the base keyboard controls are a bit fiddly, however they do let you change the controls.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
