Pony Island

The story is expressed through creative world building, both within the game and outside of it.

Beneath its cutesy surface, Pony Island hides a sinister intelligence that constantly breaks the fourth wall, challenges the player’s expectations, and transforms the act of playing into an unsettling exploration of both the game and the player’s own curiosity.

Its bright, low-resolution graphics mimic the charm of an old-school arcade cabinet, complete with cheerful sprites and pixelated landscapes.

The soundtrack is amazing and the sound effects do not pose as annoyingly repetitive.

From then on, Pony Island proves to be a game with a solid amount of lore, an altogether excellent difficulty balance (yes, even to filthy casuals like me!), a story that unfolds interestingly and... remarkable characters.
