What makes the story work better for me is that it does not just use the abusive father as a cheap horror villain.

There isn't much gameplay here, you're mostly going to be walking around this hellhole trailer getting beers for your father, or walking around the uh, hell-erhole trailer park doing the same, but there's some touches that actually surprised me, namely a segment where you get to draw a picture with ingame tools that felt pretty good to use.
