What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Replayability - Thanks to the procedurally generated levels that are based on a seed, so players players may share the seed to play the same maps and encounters, and the daily challenges that provide one attempt to score high in the online leaderboards, not to mention unlockable content and achievements, the game provides many hours of challenging fun.
Characters may be customized through race, weapon, skills and items, adding a nice layer of depth to the game, while procedurally generated levels extend longevity.
Graphics - Cartoonish and pleasant, with detailed characters and special effects, there is just enough enemy and scenery variation to keep the game interesting for a long time.
Gameplay - As a top-down action rpg, the control scheme is twin-stick based and it includes full controller support, being fluid and responsive on both gamepads and keyboard setups.
Sound design complements the action effectively, providing satisfying feedback for attacks and abilities without overwhelming the player.
Interface - Even with a certain degree of complexity involving character and item stats, not to mention skill effects and particularities, the whole interface is clean and simple, while still providing players with the ability to mouse over mostly everything in order to reveal a tooltip with all the information and math needed, effectively removing the need to look on wikis or guides for them.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
