While the core story is short and easy to follow, it feels remarkably fresh thanks to its framing: the game places you right in the middle of an enchanting library, sitting in front of a massive interactive book.
- Easy replayability to collect missed items, if you want to be completionist (I did!), including the ability to skip combat gauntlets to make finding collectables less tedious.
I like this approach, the music, visuals, and performance have all been quite good.
They adapted the cursor you used for controlling objects in the environment to the mouse and the joystick in your gamepad, and it works quite beautifully; picture “Super Mario Galaxy” where you use the cursor to interact with the world around you, but instead of a Wiimote, you’re using a mouse and a joystick.
As a person who usually isn't drawn to games like that, I can assure you that nothing is too hard or too frustrating.
