It is overflowing with creativity and an absolute blast to play, with plenty of replayability, all DLC’s included upon purchasing the game, and with a fair price of $AU22.95, I highly recommend it.
The developers know their audience and poke fun at the genre, characters, tropes and essentially every aspect of video games.
Add to that colorful cozy pixel graphics, fun screen-filling bosses (some of them optional and cleverly hidden), and great level variety ranging from your typical woods, deserts and lava-filled caverns to some nice surprises late in the game, Songs to a Hero is an absolute winner.
Being a musical platformer, the soundtrack is arguably the most vital element, and I can say with confidence that it is fantastic, upbeat and everchanging.
If you dislike musicals altogether, or want to replay without the singing, there's the option to switch off voices and subtitles, so you can play the game like any other platformer.
