This mechanic works pretty decently, however you have to setup the card priority VERY carefully, if you don't properly set it up, it will be nearly useless.

If you ask me its great, I like the designs personally, voice acting adds a ton of personality as well as the writing of things not visually shown (story is presented mainly as a visual novel but has animation both in 2D and 3D occasionally) and I am personally invested in the current crew and whoever will by added in the future.
