What players think
The recurring themes across 56 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The story is fine and enjoyable so if you are into old games especially with unfair difficulty here and there, highly recommended.
Everything here works beautifully — the sound, the visuals, the story, the atmosphere.
For such an old game it still looks neat, also having nice soundtrack and voice acting that even includes some well known names like John DiMaggio, Patrick Stewart and the late great Michael Clarke Duncan.
One minor thing I would have appreciated would be for controller buttons to be listed properly in the Level-Up screen when unlocking new moves (as it seems to list the Keyboard & Mouse keys in this section no matter what you're using), but since the Skills list when actually playing the game lists the appropriate controller button, this is more a cosmetic issue and one that does not really affect gameplay and ease of reference.
Having played for over two hours as of writing this, it works well and I haven't encountered any issues - this Steam release is compatible with Steam Deck while having some quality of life improvements compared to the original release of the game sold at GOG with 56 cents to its price, which is within reason (*if* the changes were even bigger with achievements then it could be more than that).
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
