Some things aged very well for a 1997 game (general combat, voiced/major characters, very creative worldbuilding and lore, strong RPG mechanics, interactivity with the environment that is common with CRPGs) while others definitely show their age.
The graphics is of course dated, but true gamers know that the most important thing in a computer game to look for is gameplay, and the gameplay is superb in all Fallout games.
Fallout (1) has my personal favorite setting and world of any game, everything from its characters, art style, and music on top of a great story from beginning to end.
The voice acting and 3d faces are great.
