Rivals of Aether

Rivals of aether is the most fun fighting game I have played in years, with a roster of 18 unique awesome characters to play as against your friends (if you have any lmao) or online, and the most fun endless gamemode I have seen in a while as well (and as of writing this, currently grinding out for the achievement).

I eventually finished all the things I wanted to do from a singeplayer standpoint, so I ran out of that already, if I were to have a multiplayer experience with friends, it would be workshop, and if abyss endless was a thing for online, I would keep queue'ing games for it because co-op experiences would be fun.

This game's an excellent Smash Bros.-style brawler that deserves a lot of credit for its smooth gameplay, great graphics and fun default roster, but let's not kid ourselves; the main reason to play it is for the Workshop content, which expands the game into a MUGEN-style fighter with absolutely unhinged characters from just about every corner of gaming and the internet you can think of.

This design choice dramatically alters the flow of combat, pushing matches toward an offensive rhythm where hesitation is often punished and initiative matters more than passive play.

There is a story mode with charming limited cutscenes and real plot beyond the normal "heres a new match go win" that most story modes bring.

These options ensure the game remains engaging even for players who aren’t focused exclusively on competitive multiplayer.
