It is a good showcase of the original characters, but has very few choices.
The progression of the story itself is similar to the previous game, in that it starts out cheerful and silly, then slowly becomes more of a heavy experience.
While it's important to note the soundtrack is all royalty free music, it is amazingly good royalty free music.
It doesn't follow the typical branching-path format of visual novels like the first game; rather, Holiday Star has a main menu with many options, which take you to the four core stories and some shorter bonus stories.
