This works well both to simulate zoning rights, and to add a good amount of gameplay balance allowing for early game play to be making bids on shorter connections between smaller towns to earn starting capital, while late game largely revolves around building shortcuts and optimizing the network to undercut opposing tycoon's profits by stealing their customer.

This one's a really fun game to play with friends, and I've also had some fun in the single player campaign so far.

I have wrongly expected this to have a somewhat similar gameplay to the old Sid Mayers Railroads and its multiplayer, which used to be very fun.
