Mechanics are about as would be predicted for the engine and genre, extended to include welcome survial elements (which I believe can be turned off? Wasn't intrested in doing so myself but do recall seeing that).

Combat is very challenging but not impossible, and the survival element is reinforced by some encounters consistantly costing more resources than they reward, making 'fight or flight?'
