The lighting is stunning, and the fact that you can customize the weather to your liking is just the icing on the cake!
Worth noting is that as of this writing the game only features two ships, but more will be added over time, a majority of which will be entirely free with the only paid DLC being used to support foundations and museums that honor the stories of these ships, so this may be worth waiting on until a few more ships are on offer in the future before making a final purchase, as I feel each ship added will greatly enhance the overall value of the product.
The biggest issue the dev has is that Titanic Honor & Glory has the full interior, better textures and optimization - and it's free.
If you are a big fan of a myriad of ocean liners throughout history and have a taste for slower and more thoughtful experience that involves slowly strolling the decks of these fascinating machines while learning from real life photos with historical subtext and narration as the ship sails through patches of rain, sun, snow, and fog with suitable sound effects and period accurate music, I think this is well worth the price - but if you expect deeper gameplay systems or greater replayability beyond the atmosphere and vibe this offers, then you should probably pass it by.
