What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The writing is clever, the tone is charmingly absurd, and every case feels like a compact, well-crafted homage to classic horror and mystery media.
While I’m not usually a fan of pixel art, the visuals here are bright, readable, and thoughtfully composed.
The enjoyment comes primarily from story and humor, not from complex puzzles or intricate gameplay systems.
I'll also give credit to the achievements, which add a layer of difficulty and replayability if you want it, many of which involve exploring to click on more obscure hotspots or ones that are updating based on how the scenario is progressing.
Some of the chapters in this game are real bangers up there with some of the classic LucasArts games and the soundtrack is excellent and atmospheric.
