Originally conceived for the game jam, Ludum Dare 30, this Steam release sees enhanced graphics, tougher AI, controller support, and various other polished nuances.
Graphically, the game uses charming pixel art that's easy to read during the frenetic gameplay, along with character portraits that even taunt when one player makes a mistake.
What remains is the couch co-op and while the arcade feell, the ease of Xbox360 pad support, the dash of anime art direction and the immediate appeal of combining brickbreak and vertical shooter, the game is too thin on content, and ultimately too narrow to really warrant spending much time in.
