If you can look past the sound being garbage (which is inexcusable because this game's soundtrack needs to be enjoyed to its fullest), some extra input lag, and frame drops here and there.... well, you still have a fairly playable port, kind of.
Originally released in 1997 for the Neo Geo MVS and later revived on Steam, the game stands as one of the best examples of the run-and-gun formula done with speed, flair, and replayability in mind.
The graphics are amazingly done in glorious retro style pixel art... and it would make you quite intrigued to know that most objects in the level are entirely destructible.
Playing it today on something like the Steam Deck means you can easily enjoy playing it on the go, and the gameplay still holds up really well.
