Story and characters
Players who bring up Story and characters mostly praise it.
the feeling of being in an abandoned old game is also really well nailed here. the colors, the 3d models, the textures, even the dialogue of the bots at the lobby, all of them contribute to that feeling, and combined with the soundtrack, it becomes a package of mourning nostalgia. i really loved the quote in the game's description ("they've fought long before you, and they'll fight long after you're gone") because it describes pretty well that feeling of being alienated from the world.

Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
the gameplay is simple and easy to remember, which is comforting. the combat is challenging in its own way and also very fun. i love how it escalates in a way that makes you panic at first, but even when you get used to it, it doesn't get boring. it really makes you feel inside some kind of eletronic sandbox, where the different types of enemies keep throwing you new stuff to deal with. i think it really captures the chaotic atmosphere of being inside a full pvp server. the fact that all enemies are bots and the whole server is kinda trying to "stop" the violence but at the same time contributing to it feels deliciously ironic.
