The attention to detail in creating the environments and characters in pixel art is impressive, capturing the essence of the original game’s universe while adapting it to a new visual style.
Lucius Demake’s visual design is a true tribute to the classics of the past, featuring pixelated graphics that evoke the 8-bit and 16-bit era.
As for the gameplay, I felt the 2D style actually helped some missions feel less complicated, as I remember having trouble finding certain small objects in the original version.
The C64 artstyle and the 8-bit soundtrack (actually I am not sure if it's 8-bit) harmonize well together and makes the game very enjoyable.
If you wish you can also use a gamepad (I noticed that after my first playthrough...) which makes it way more convenient to play.
