Perhaps it was the bright cartoonish graphics, or maybe I was just feeling left out, but whatever it was in December of 2015 I added the game to my Steam library (in retrospect I think that it was probably because it was at this point C&C came out of Early Access and went free to play).

The gameplay is great, has a surprising amount of depth, and really scratches that hard to find itch of turn based, tactical, board-based, PC, PVP, that has a thriving community with active and responsive Devs.
