Glowing structures and battlefield lighting effects help reinforce the atmosphere while also supporting gameplay clarity.
Gameplay-wise it's a good game but I can't recommend this game because of optimization issues.
It should be noted that although I don't have much time on Steam logged for it, I have spent a fair bit more on private builds, as I did some initial Linux testing for them.
They did such a great job on creating a sci-fi atmosphere, full of sound effects, incredible graphics (the lighting in this game is amazing), animations, and such a cool art style.
